over a week since the last post...

Well, since the time I've last written anything, lots has happened. Been a pretty successful past 10 days or so I would have to say. Work is still going really well and I got an awesome 53" widescreen HDTV this week! Hotness.

Last weekend was Travis' surprise bday dinner and partay. It went great, I was so excited, and Swetal was the greatest help in getting everything together! Apart from his initial grumpiness at being told he would be having a surprise get together ;) I think he liked it, and everyone had a whole lot of fun. Stefan and Baden need to be thanked for helping last minute to decorate with Miss Patel. It was great times. Now I can't wait to get Trav to cash in his bday present (we're gonna go to a cooking class at Southern Season, which I imagine is going to be totally awesome).

Also in recent news, my kitty hurt his paw pretty badly. I think it must have been a bad sprain or something, but he wouldn't put any weight on it at all. Its a pretty sad affair to watch Satch limping and hopping around on three legs. Thankfully he seems to pretty much be all better now, hopefully just another day or two until he's right as rain.

I did go to the vet and get him some painkillers, which makes me wonder...maybe cats have natural instincts for helping themselves heal. Perhaps giving an animal medications that mask feeling or pain is not what they need. After all, Satch seemed to know what to do to keep his leg right so it could heal. I was a little nervous that giving him the meds would make him try to walk on the leg prematurely, but I suppose all seems well. Basically I probably wasted my money on cat medication to make myself feel better, rather than helping my cat in any way. Eh, what can ya do?

Thats about it for now...happy weekend!

a paycheck!

Good news: Yesterday I got my first full-time, real-world job paycheck ever. Pretty cooooool.

Bad news: One THIRD of the deductions went to social security. Something that no one under-45 will probably EVER see ANY return on in our lives. How about we just keep our damn money and individuals support their older relatives like we are going to have to in the future...

That's all. I am happy again.

In closing (in Brett's words): CASH MONEY

Hehehe. :)

Mr. PP and the summit

I am absolutely loving my new apartment, it is very cool. The only thing that will make it better is the 53" TV I am getting later this week or early next week. Man its going to be awesome! :)

Also, I dig my new job a lot. I am actually excited to go to work in the morning. I love being professional and learning new things everyday, and that I have big, important responsibilities, insofar as keeping our clients happy and pleased with my company, as well as all my fellow employees and bosses. Spencer was right, but aparently unoriginal, when he pointed out that MRPP, Inc. can be pronounced Mr. PP, and aparently it is within the company. Anytime we are discussing scandalous events within the company, or talking about the Mr. PP employee Nascar challenge (yes, my very professional agency has gone redneck to please our Nascar-loving accountant). It is fairly amusing.

I had an awesome weekend. Trav came out to the new place and we went to an awesome dinner at Stonewood Grill, it was a really nice evening. Then Saturday I went out to Durham and saw a couple of people, and Sunday I saw all of my bff's in the old neighborhood before eating some good chinese food with Swetal for dinner. And Monday after work I went out to Brixx to see Angie, Suneel, Diana and the old neighbors again. All in all a very nice 3 days or so.

Oh, and my cat returned home today from a 48 hour missing streak. Yay Satch is back!!!

thinking

Miss Swetal engages my brain more and much differently than anyone I know. Talking to her makes me think better and more introspectively than I usually do. I suppose when I am by myself I can be very philisophical but I usually don't share any of those thoughts. Swetal makes me feel like sharing, but only with her. I think it all boils down to a sense of real understanding. And mutual respect for ideas.

blessed

I am blessed. Truly. In no sense do I mean to bring any thought of G-d into this post, considering I don't think I believe, but thats besides the point.

I have parents who do everything to make sure I am set and happy in life. They have sacrificed so much in life to give me what I wanted and needed to ensure that I have the best opportunites possible in life to me. Despite our differences of opinion, they are continually supportive of the choices I make in life, like them or not. No matter what I say or think at times that I am frustrated or stressed out, I am extremely thankful for everything I have been given and I remember that all the time.

I have friends who are quite seriously amazing in their ability to show me and let me know how much I mean to them on a regular basis. I also have friends who make me question whether they are worth the effort I put into our friendship, but ultimately I guess that I think they are, and besides, they just make me appreciate my really awesome friends all the more.

This weekend I moved into my new apartment in Morrisville, 20 minutes east of my former home in Chapel Hill. Moving and having my parents and friends here to help and welcome me to my new place has really made me appreciate everything I have had the chance to do and experience as a college student in the past 4 years.

Tomorrow I start my first full-time job as an adult in this world. I think that should be scary, and people seem to believe I should be apprehensive about it, but I am not. I am excited. Being that it will be midnight before I get to bed now, I probably should get more sleep before my first real-life job than I am going to, but it doesn't matter to me...I think tomorrow will prove to be a lot of fun. Hope I'm right. :)

Ok, time for bed. Send me good thoughts and wishes. And if you're reading this, you're great! I'm not sure who all reads my blog, but I love all of you loyal readers, whether I know you're reading or you're lurking behind the scenes. Goodnight y'all.
